The Exception to Our “No Chemicals” Rule: Toothpaste for Sensitive Teeth

We are a little embarrassed to admit that our sensitivity toothpaste contains the same active ingredient as most of the commercial preparations rather than a natural alternative. This is because there is no natural alternative that will solve this increasingly widespread problem. The chemical is called potassium nitrate, and it is the only FDA accepted active ingredient used to treat this condition. We offer it to you in our natural base which contains no artificial dyes, sweeteners or preservatives. And (emphatically) no Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). Our scientists have reviewed the safety data in this ingredient and believe it to be both safe and effective. Our sensitivity toothpaste also contains sodium fluoride to strengthen teeth and prevent cavities.
